Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and skilled Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN 1:1 Support) to provide comprehensive, individualized academic, socio-emotional, and behavioural support to a Lower Primary student with complex learning needs. Inclusion & Social Skills Development: Promote acceptance and full inclusion of the pupil within the school community, supporting social communication and positive peer interactions both inside the classroom and during unstructured times (break, lunch, and transitions).
Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Liaison: Work collaboratively with Homeroom Teachers, Learning Support Coordinator, Pastoral Team, and external therapists to contribute to the planning, delivery, and ongoing review of the pupil’s individual educational goals.
Observation, Documentation & Feedback: Maintain accurate, systematic, and confidential documentation of pupil observations, progress, and behavioral response; provide timely feedback to relevant staff and parents at agreed intervals.
Child Protection & Safeguarding: Know and rigorously apply school policies regarding Child Protection, Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Behaviour, Equal Opportunities, and confidential issues linked to home/school relations.
Professional Growth & Community Engagement: Actively participate in school training activities, professional development, and staff meetings to continuously enhance knowledge and skills in working with children with specific learning needs; undertake general supervision duties as requested by school leadership.
