Prime Mover Driver (Class 4)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and professional Prime Mover Driver (Class 4) to join T B C TRANSPORTATION & TRADING PTE LTD. This is a full-time position based in the West Region. As a Prime Mover Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of cargo whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Operate prime movers safely and efficiently in accordance with traffic regulations and company policies
• Transport goods across assigned routes and beyond, ensuring timely and secure delivery
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times and vehicle condition reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and any route delays
• Adhere to all traffic laws, weight regulations and safety protocols whilst operating heavy vehicles
• Load and unload cargo in coordination with warehouse personnel, ensuring proper securing of goods
• Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle at all times
• Respond promptly to any roadside emergencies or breakdowns and report incidents to management
• Contribute to a safety-first culture by promoting best practices and reporting hazards

What we're looking for

• Valid Class 4 driving licence with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience driving prime movers or heavy vehicles
• Knowledge of traffic regulations, road safety procedures and vehicle maintenance basics
• Excellent time management and route navigation skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and customers
• Physical fitness and ability to perform loading and unloading duties as required
• Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to meeting delivery deadlines
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions from management
• Familiarity with the West Region routes is advantageous
• Possession of a valid passport or identification document
