In this role, you will join an established engineering environment at Forte, collaborating across international teams to build AI into everyday software delivery. You will work closely with engineering leads and product stakeholders to develop custom AI skills, subagents, and automated workflows that power enterprise financial technology solutions, bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI capabilities and production-ready code.

As an AI Tooling & Software Engineer, you will contribute to its success by pairing directly with client engineers to collect feedback, iterating rapidly in an agile environment, establishing quality and evaluation standards for AI-driven tooling, and clearly documenting system usage to drive seamless engineering adoption.

Key Competencies

• Build, maintain, and evaluate custom AI agent skills, subagents, hooks, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to automate software design, architecture, and engineering workflows.
• Develop automated code and unit-test generation pipelines following enterprise Java and Spring Boot service patterns with integrated linting and automated test execution loops.
• Design and deploy rapid prototyping workflows turning product concepts into functional React and TypeScript components while maintaining tracking for AI quality, latency, and token costs.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on architecture or technical leadership for distributed systems , JVM-based backends ( Java , Spring Boot ), Domain-Driven Design (DDD) , and event-driven architecture .
• 2+ years of experience building production-grade LLM solutions , including agentic architectures , tool use , retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) , structured outputs , and prompt engineering .
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code (or comparable platforms), including developing custom skills , subagents , MCP servers , hooks , and plugins .
• Expertise in LLM evaluation , observability , hallucination mitigation , human-in-the-loop workflows , and data governance/security in regulated environments ( PII , access controls, audit trails).

Nice to Have Skills

• Practical knowledge of event sourcing patterns ( EventStoreDB ) and knowledge graphs .
• Hands-on experience with modern web technologies including TypeScript , React , and Node.js , as well as Confluence and Jira APIs .
• Familiarity with fintech domain concepts, SOX compliance , contract testing , service mocking , and developer platform enablement.

• Self-starter mindset with a proven track record of shipping incrementally, gathering user feedback, and continuously iterating on software solutions.
• Excellent technical communication skills with fluent English proficiency ( B2+/C1 ) to collaborate directly with client engineering teams.
• Quality-minded engineering approach that emphasizes rigorous testing, regression validation, and objective evaluation of AI-generated output.
