Principal Data Engineer

The ideal candidate is a Data Engineer , with the flexibility to contribute across modelling, analysis, architecture, and solution design. They should be highly organised, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working within a collaborative cluster-based model across local and global teams.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support local systems and global data products. This is a horizontal role working across multiple data domains, systems, and teams , with hands-on data engineering as the primary focus.

The role involves building and maintaining data pipelines while also contributing to data modelling, data analysis, solution design, and data architecture. The candidate will work closely with Madrid-based stakeholders and distributed global teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, and Matillion .
• Integrate data from local systems into enterprise platforms and global data products.
• Develop and optimise SQL-based data transformations.
• Analyse source data, business rules, data quality, and system dependencies.
• Design reusable data models for reporting, analytics, and data products.
• Contribute to data architecture and solution-design discussions.
• Work horizontally across different teams, platforms, and data domains.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities for standardisation or reuse.
• Document data flows, integration patterns, and technical solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with local Spanish-speaking stakeholders and global teams.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS, Matillion, and SQL .
• Good knowledge of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and data integration.
• Experience in data modelling and data analysis.
• Understanding of data architecture, data quality, and governance principles.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English
