Principal Design Manager, Data Centers

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Design Manager, Data Centers to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This role will guide the design strategy for large-scale data center developments across global markets, with a strong emphasis on managing technical risk and design quality. The position will shape reference designs and assurance playbooks that support consistent execution across multiple sites. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to strengthen organizational capability and elevate best practices across the portfolio.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $163,400 – $217,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead major data center developments across global markets while managing design risks
• Create global reference designs and assurance playbooks based on market trends
• Advise senior leaders on high-impact design strategies and technical issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance organizational capability
• Mentor senior practitioners and promote best practices across teams

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical capital programs
• Expertise in governing multi-site programs and developing playbooks
• Strong technical knowledge in critical-facility design
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills at an executive level
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
