Principal DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for one of our international clients operating in the financial technology space.

This is a highly ownership-driven role. You will be the sole DevOps Engineer responsible for the infrastructure , so we are looking for someone comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, and owning production systems end-to-end.

What you will do:

• Own the production Kubernetes platform end-to-end: topology, workload isolation, storage guarantees, and upgrade strategy for stateful financial data.
• Design and operate a dual-footprint model across GCP and Turkish infrastructure with one pipeline and one set of manifests, ensuring environments do not diverge.
• Build deployment, secrets, and release tooling that enables engineers to ship safely into a regulated environment without creating a gatekeeper.
• Own observability and on-call processes; define SLOs tied to reconciliation outcomes, build alerting around customer impact, and drive postmortems that improve the system.
• Enable the platform to produce its own compliance evidence, including audit trails, access logs, data residency proof, and change records.
• Own the technical side of infrastructure vendor decisions; define requirements, validate provider claims against real workloads, and evaluate proposed solutions.
• Harden the ingestion path and perimeter, including SFTP intake, tunnel and edge configuration, network segmentation, and key management.
• Work closely with engineering teams across Istanbul, Frankfurt, and Madrid and help raise the operational standards across the organization.

What we are looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and production infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud environments, ideally GCP.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, containers, networking, secrets management, observability, and infrastructure security.
• Experience operating business-critical systems where reliability and data integrity matter.
• The ability to independently own the DevOps function rather than work as part of a large infrastructure team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of ownership.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
