- Establish the electrical design basis, system architecture, and technical execution strategy from concept through detailed design and construction
- Lead the design of HV/MV/LV distribution, critical power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear), earthing and lightning protection, and redundancy strategies (e.g., N+1, 2N)
- Direct and review electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and voltage drop
- Ensure designs comply with Malaysian regulations and standards (e.g., Energy Commission / Suruhanjaya Tenaga, TNB requirements, MS IEC 60364, UBBL) and international data centre standards (e.g., TIA-942, Uptime Institute)
- Review and approve electrical deliverables within delegated authority, providing assurance that outputs are coordinated, complete, and fit for purpose
Project Delivery
- Lead the electrical engineering team on assigned projects, defining deliverables, responsibilities, and resource requirements
- Establish realistic engineering programmes and monitor scope, budget, and programme performance
- Identify and manage technical, programme, and commercial risks, and ensure changes to agreed scope are properly managed
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and BIM teams, and support testing and commissioning (FAT, SAT, and IST)
Clients & Stakeholders
- Act as the senior electrical representative in engagements with clients, TNB, authorities, contractors, and vendors
- Build trusted technical relationships with key stakeholders
- Lead or contribute to electrical scopes, fee estimates, and technical proposals, and support Associate Directors in business development
People & Capability
- Mentor and develop Engineers and Senior Engineers, supporting their progression towards greater technical responsibility
- Contribute to recruitment and technical assessment of candidates
- Support development of methodologies, standards, and technical guidance, and promote knowledge sharing across APAC

All roles include responsibility for health and safety in line with the requirements set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Awareness of H&S policies and procedures and impact on yourself and team
- Ensure all staff members complete mandatory compliance training when required
- Report any accidents, incidents, near misses appropriately
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (Resources)

- Accountable for leading and allocating work across the electrical team, and for delivery against agreed programme, budget, and resource forecasts
- Responsible for identifying and escalating material technical, delivery, and commercial risks
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT (minimum)
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc or equivalent)
- Registered Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (Ir., PEPC) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), or Chartered Engineer / equivalent professional standing, normally expected
- Competent Electrical Engineer certification with the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian electrical regulations and standards, and international data centre standards (e.g., TIA-942, IEC)
- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis tools such as ETAP, DIALux, Revit, or similar platforms
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IEM, IET) advantageous
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (minimum)
- Typically 10+ years of experience in electrical (MEP) design consultancy, including significant experience leading projects and teams
- Proven experience leading electrical design on large-scale data centres or mission-critical facilities, ideally in Malaysia
- Deep expertise in HV/MV/LV distribution, critical power systems, and power system studies
- Experience across all project stages, from concept design through to testing and commissioning
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and coordinate engineering teams
- Strong understanding of project scope, programme, resourcing, and commercial performance
- Strong client-facing, communication, negotiation, and technical leadership skills
