Job Description:

We are hiring a Principal Engineer – Clean Utilities for a leading pharmaceutical engineering consultancy in Thane.

The candidate will lead the Clean Utilities Design team and manage projects from basic engineering through detailed design and execution. We are looking for someone with strong experience in pharmaceutical cleanrooms and high-purity utility systems such as Purified Water, Water for Injection and Pure Steam.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead clean utility design from basic through detailed engineering.
• Design and specify Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Pure Steam and related clean utility systems.
• Review Design Basis Reports, equipment layouts, utility layouts, piping layouts and GFC drawings.
• Prepare and review equipment specifications, datasheets, BOQs and tender documents.
• Coordinate with Process, HVAC, Architecture, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Instrumentation and Structural teams.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submittals and equipment selections.
• Participate in design reviews, client meetings and technical discussions.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, cGMP requirements and applicable engineering standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and project execution.
• Resolve technical queries and site-related engineering issues.
• Ensure appropriate utility routing, equipment accessibility, maintainability and constructability.

Candidate Requirements:

• BE/BTech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 14–16 years of experience in Clean Utility Design and Execution.
• At least 5 years of experience in cleanroom projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with PW, WFI and Pure Steam systems.
• Experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device or Life Sciences projects.
• Experience with an Engineering Consultancy, Pharmaceutical EPC or Clean Utility OEM is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of high-purity piping, equipment selection and utility distribution.
• Familiarity with cGMP, IS Codes, ASME, ANSI and other applicable standards.
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
• Strong technical leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor an engineering team.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
