Principal Engineer

Zeeg is the platform teams use to capture, route, and book the right meetings; scheduling, routing forms, round-robin distribution, and a built-in CRM, working together as one product. We're a sharp, fast-moving team in Berlin that ships quickly and holds a high bar for the details.

This is a foundational technical hire. You'll work hands-on across our whole stack, partner directly with our founders on the hardest technical product decisions, and help level up how we build, taking our architecture and engineering practices further as we scale. You'll raise our bar through how you write code, review it, and reason about systems.

• Build features end to end, from the gnarly backend logic to the polished last 5% of the UI.

• Own technical design and architecture for major parts of the platform, and the trade-offs that come with scaling them.

• Push our engineering practices further: CI/CD, observability, infrastructure, and the foundations that let a fast team keep moving fast as it grows.

• Help shape our AI-native direction at the system level, not just the feature level.

• Raise the bar through code review, mentorship, and the example you set.

• You've spent years building and scaling real products that people use, and you've felt the pain that comes with growth, so you design for it.

• Deep in software design and architecture. You think in systems: data consistency, race conditions, the N+1 query, the missing index, the security gap, the performance cliff at 10x.

• Genuinely hands-on across the stack and into infrastructure, not just code, but how it's deployed, observed, and kept reliable. Cloud, containers, CI/CD, and IaC are familiar territory.

• An eye for detail that's almost uncomfortable. You notice the things others miss, and you care that they're right.

• Startup hustle. You're happiest with high ownership and low overhead. You shape the problem, not just the solution, and you get things shipped.

• Fundamentals over stack. Our stack is PHP/Laravel, Vue/Nuxt, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Cloudflare; on the AI side we work with frontier models (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic) and voice AI, choosing the right tool per use case. We hire for engineering judgment, not a checklist; if you're excellent and haven't touched our exact tools, we still want to talk.

• Bonus: experience with our stack, or building AI/LLM-powered product features.

Where you'll work

You'll be based in Berlin, working from our beautiful office in Mitte, with the possibility of one day a week from home. If you're relocating to Berlin to join us, we'll help make it smooth.
