Principal Engineer - Infrastructure Platform

We’re partnered with a fast-scaling healthcare technology company building modern infrastructure that improves healthcare delivery and patient outcomes at scale.

They’re now looking for a Principal AI Agent Platform Engineer to help design, build, and scale the infrastructure powering production AI agents across their engineering organization.

The role will involve building agent runtimes, SDKs, developer tooling, and cloud-native infrastructure that enables teams to develop, deploy, and operate AI-powered applications. You'll play a key role in shaping platform architecture, reliability, security, and developer experience while remaining hands-on with production code.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and operate the core AI agent platform, including runtimes, SDKs, templates, and developer workflows

• Build and scale cloud-native infrastructure, working closely with SRE on IaC, security, networking, and production reliability

• Develop evaluation frameworks, guardrails, observability, and resilience patterns for production LLM and agent systems

• Set technical standards across platform architecture, engineering practices, and AI development

• Partner with engineering teams to build and deploy AI agents, turning complex use cases into reusable platform capabilities

• Own production reliability through SLOs, monitoring, incident response, and operational improvements

Requirements

• Proven track record building and operating platforms adopted by multiple engineering teams

• Deep experience with cloud-native distributed systems, data infrastructure, and service architecture

• Strong hands-on infrastructure experience across cloud environments, IaC, and production systems

• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, TypeScript, or Rust

• Experience building developer tooling, SDKs, internal platforms, or developer productivity solutions

• Strong architectural judgment, technical leadership, and end-to-end ownership

• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes is advantageous

• Production experience with LLMs, AI agents, evaluation frameworks, or AI infrastructure is highly desirable but not essential
