Principal Flight Software Engineer – Embedded Linux & Networking

An innovative space technology company is looking for a Principal Flight Software Engineer to help shape the software architecture powering its next generation of satellites.

This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of mission-critical embedded systems, lead networking architecture, and influence engineering standards across a growing Flight Software team.

The Role

• Lead embedded Linux development, including kernel drivers, BSP bring-up, and hardware integration.
• Architect satellite networking subsystems, communication protocols, and network interfaces.
• Develop reliable embedded software using C, C++, and Python.
• Drive technical decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and lead complex software projects from concept to delivery.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong embedded Linux expertise.
• Hands-on Linux kernel, device driver, and networking experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and communication protocols.
• Experience with Yocto or Buildroot and embedded debugging tools.
• Proven technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience in aerospace, satellite systems, telecommunications, or defense technology would be advantageous.
