Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $175,000 – $240,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery workshops with customer architects and data leaders
• Own the scope and acceptance criteria for AI deployments to ensure clarity and accuracy
• Translate complex AI and data concepts into executive-ready proposals for stakeholders
• Design end-to-end AI data connectivity and governance solutions
• Identify and address architectural gaps during enterprise engagements in real-time
• Author recommendations for enhancements and build reusable deployment patterns
• Mentor junior engineers on AI integration and technical delivery

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Solutions Architecture, Principal SE, Forward Deployed Engineer, or a similar role in data platforms, AI, or SaaS companies
• Experience in launching production AI applications, not just prototypes
• Worked on a SaaS Platform in an Architect or similar role
• Proven track record with senior technical buyers and architecture review boards
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including LLM capabilities, agent architectures, and prompt engineering
• Expertise in multi-tenant architectural patterns and security objectives
• Hands-on experience with enterprise data integration practices like SQL, ETL, API design, and multi-source connectivity
• Ability to design governed data access for AI agents
