The successful candidate will work from the Lakewood office and bring strong knowledge of Colorado engineering practice and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, design activities, and technical recommendations for building and infrastructure assignments.
  • Provide senior technical guidance while ensuring work aligns with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Direct subsurface exploration programs, laboratory testing, instrumentation monitoring, data interpretation, and engineering analysis.
  • Evaluate foundations, earthwork, slope stability, seepage, lateral earth pressures, seismic conditions, and related geotechnical considerations.
  • Support projects involving commercial and residential buildings, bridges, highways, rail, airports, pipelines, levees, basins, and other civil infrastructure.
  • Oversee geotechnical services during construction, including shallow foundations, drilled shafts, driven piles, grading, utility trenching, and earthwork operations.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, recommendations, calculations, and other project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, project teams, stakeholders, contractors, and public agencies to resolve technical issues.
  • Build durable client relationships and contribute to proposals, pursuits, and broader business-development efforts.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.
  • Help maintain the group's quality procedures and relevant accreditations, while remaining engaged with the geotechnical engineering profession.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of professional geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in Colorado.
  • Colorado-based experience and familiarity with local engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design and analysis, field investigations, and construction-phase supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of geotechnical engineering fundamentals, soil and rock mechanics, foundations, earthwork, and groundwater conditions.
  • Experience overseeing foundation construction and earthwork observation.
  • Strong written, verbal, client-facing, and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree with a geotechnical engineering focus.
  • Knowledge of earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and hydrogeology.
  • Experience with slope-stability software, pile-modeling applications, and site-response analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Colorado Department of Transportation standards, guidelines, and deliverables.
