Austin, Texas | Full-Time | 15–20% Travel

Summary

A physician-led Principal Investigator opportunity within a growing and highly regarded clinical research organisation focused on advancing innovative therapies in cardiometabolic and endocrine disease .

This position has been created due to growth and expansion and is a key hire to strengthen scientific and medical leadership across an important and expanding research portfolio.

This role offers the chance to make meaningful impact in a high-growth setting, work directly with sponsors and CROs, and help shape the future of clinical research in areas including obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, lipid disorders, and related cardiometabolic conditions .

What You’ll Do

• Serve as Principal Investigator for cardiometabolic and endocrinology clinical trials, with overall responsibility for medical oversight, patient safety, and protocol compliance
• Provide scientific and clinical leadership across studies in areas such as obesity, diabetes, metabolic disease, lipid disorders, and cardiovascular risk reduction
• Partner with sponsors, CROs, and internal teams to support study delivery, feasibility, recruitment strategy, and portfolio growth
• Represent the organisation in sponsor meetings, site visits, and other external scientific engagements
• Ensure all research activity is conducted in line with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP standards, and study requirements

What You Bring

• MD or DO with active medical license
• General Medicine physician with strong cardiometabolic clinical experience and hands-on clinical research exposure
• Board certification or specialization in: Endocrinology, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Strong clinical background in: Obesity, Diabetes, Metabolic disease, Lipid disorders, Related cardiometabolic conditions
• Prior clinical research experience preferred
• Experience working with pharmaceutical sponsors or CROs preferred

Compensation

• Base salary: ~$220,00-$250,000 base
• Flexibility to increase for the right candidate
• Broader package can be discussed confidentially during the process
