Principal Project Engineer

MANSA RESOURCES is a growing mining company operating gold assets in West Africa. Following the successful operation of our mine in Guinea, the Group is now developing a major gold mining project in Liberia.

To support the delivery of the Dugbe Gold Project, we are seeking an experienced Principal Project Engineer to provide senior engineering coordination, project integration, and execution support across all phases of the project.

This position offers an opportunity to play a key role within the Owner's Team, ensuring effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and operational readiness activities.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Director , the Principal Project Engineer will act as a key technical interface between the Owner's Team, EPCM contractor, consultants, and construction contractors.

The successful candidate will support project delivery by coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities, managing interfaces, implementing project management systems, and ensuring construction readiness across multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering and project execution activities across contractors, consultants, and the Owner's Team.
• Manage technical interfaces, engineering deliverables, design reviews, and construction readiness activities.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of project management systems, procedures, and reporting processes.
• Monitor project risks, technical issues, schedules, and execution performance.
• Coordinate Owner-managed works and ensure alignment with the overall project execution strategy.
• Participate in contractor management, technical evaluations, and project coordination meetings.
• Support construction, commissioning, handover, and operational readiness activities.
• Mentor and develop national engineers and project personnel through coaching and knowledge transfer.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Process, or related discipline).
• Project Management or Construction Management qualifications are advantageous.
• Professional engineering registration or eligibility is desirable.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of engineering and project delivery experience within mining, infrastructure, mineral processing, or heavy industry.
• Experience working within an Owner's Team, EPCM environment, or major contractor organization.
• Proven background in multidisciplinary project engineering and contractor coordination.
• Experience on greenfield mining or large capital projects is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in Africa or other remote project environments is an advantage.
