Analytical Development Scientist / Manager – Pharmaceutical R&D

We are supporting a global pharmaceutical organisation seeking an experienced Analytical Development Scientist / Manager to join its R&D team in Japan.

This role will be responsible for leading analytical development activities across pharmaceutical R&D projects, including method development, validation, stability testing and analytical support for product development and regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimise and validate analytical methods across a range of pharmaceutical dosage forms.
• Lead analytical testing, stability studies and technical troubleshooting activities.
• Manage analytical projects, coordinating internal teams and external laboratories.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, ICH/VICH guidelines, pharmacopoeial standards and Japanese pharmaceutical regulations.
• Prepare and review analytical protocols, validation reports and technical documentation.

Key Requirements:

• 7+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or veterinary pharmaceutical R&D.
• Strong technical expertise in HPLC-UV, LC-MS, GC-FID and dissolution testing .
• Good understanding of GxP, ICH/VICH guidelines and Japanese pharmaceutical regulations .
• Experience with different pharmaceutical dosage forms.
• Previous analytical project management or team leadership experience.
• Strong scientific communication skills and professional fluency in English.
• Experience with Empower or MassLynx would be advantageous.
