Principal Scientist Formulation Development

We are looking for an experienced Principal Scientist – Formulation Development to join our Pharmaceutical Development team .

This is a key technical leadership role, with responsibility for driving innovation in pharmaceutical product development, providing scientific expertise throughout the product lifecycle and leading complex formulation development projects.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Designing, planning and executing preformulation and formulation development studies for oral, dermal and ophthalmic products , aligned with project objectives and portfolio strategy.

• Coordinating project activities, resources, timelines and deliverables, while providing scientific and technical leadership .

• Evaluating the technical feasibility of new product concepts, technologies and innovation opportunities .

• Leading troubleshooting activities and proposing solutions to technical challenges throughout product development.

• Collaborating closely with Analytical Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Technical Operations teams on scale-up, technology transfer and process optimisation.

• Managing activities with CROs and external partners , including protocol review, study monitoring and technical oversight.

• Preparing technical reports, development documentation and regulatory support documents.

• Ensuring compliance with GMP, ICH guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements .

• Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and controlled documentation .

• Contributing to scientific publications, patents and conference presentations.

What are we looking for?

• PhD, MSc or equivalent degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.

• At least 8 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Development within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry.

• Demonstrated experience in formulation design, preformulation studies, product characterisation and stability assessment .

• Proven experience managing complex development projects .

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical development regulations and GMP requirements .

Fluent English , both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively in technical, scientific and business environments.
