Principal / Senior Manager – Value Creation and Restructuring Services

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a broad range of corporate insolvency and restructuring engagements, including court and voluntary liquidations, receiverships, schemes of arrangement, corporate recovery and restructuring assignments, solvent liquidations, and cross-border insolvency matters.
• Act as, or support, Appointment Takers in court-appointed and creditor-driven insolvency engagements.
• Oversee engagement delivery, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and professional requirements, while managing risks and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Lead and mentor engagement teams, including the supervision, coaching and development of professional staff.
• Prepare and review reports, witness statements, statutory filings, court documents and communications for creditors, courts, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Liaise and negotiate with solicitors, barristers, regulators, financial institutions, government authorities, creditors, shareholders and management teams.
• Undertake financial and operational reviews, investigations, contingency planning and restructuring assessments for distressed businesses.
• Actively participate in business development initiatives, cultivating networks and identifying new opportunities for growth.
• Support Partners and Directors in complex and high-profile restructuring, insolvency and dispute-related engagements.
• Contribute to the growth and strategic development of the firm's Restructuring & Insolvency practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as HKICPA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in insolvency, restructuring, investigations or corporate recovery, preferably gained from a leading professional services firm or established restructuring practice.
• Proven experience in managing liquidation, receivership, restructuring and insolvency engagements independently.
• Experience serving as an Appointment Taker for court-appointed insolvency engagements will be a strong advantage.
• Solid knowledge of Hong Kong insolvency legislation, Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, Companies Ordinance and related regulatory requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen, financial analysis, stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience supervising and developing professional teams.
• Established professional network and proven business development experience would be advantageous for Principal-level candidates.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent command of writing, conversation and presentation skills both in English and Chinese including Cantonese and Putonghua
