Principal Software Architect

We are seeking a highly technical Principal Software Architect to serve as a key architectural leader within our organization. This is a hands-on role for an experienced architect who enjoys building prototypes, evaluating emerging technologies, demonstrating solutions, and providing technical leadership across engineering teams.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, modern software development, AI-driven solutions, and large-scale distributed systems. This individual will help shape the future of our technology platform while remaining actively involved in technical design, innovation, and engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture strategy across cloud-native applications and platforms.
• Design, build, and scale highly available, high-performance distributed systems.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and technical prototypes to evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches.
• Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered solutions, automation capabilities, and intelligent processing platforms.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to software engineering teams.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and reference architectures.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and executive stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
• Architect and optimize systems supporting large-scale, transaction-intensive workloads.
• Guide platform modernization efforts and cloud adoption strategies.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, and security.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software architecture, solution architecture, or senior software engineering leadership roles.
• Deep expertise designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python and .NET technologies.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure services, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern data platform technologies.
• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and enterprise data engineering practices.
• Experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing environments.
• Proven experience supporting highly scalable, transaction-intensive platforms.
• Ability to lead technical direction while remaining hands-on with architecture and solution design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within banking, payments, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of PCI compliance and secure platform design.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, generative AI, or agentic AI solutions.
• Background designing enterprise-scale platforms with significant transaction volumes.
