Principal Software Engineer

Our client Emerson's Test & Measurement is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their team!

This is an exciting opportunity to unleash the value of systems and hardware through the development of drivers, software, or firmware. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will specify, design, implement, and test software features for new and existing products. You will drive software development excellence, continuous improvement, and bring innovation into software and hardware products. This role requires you to work and interact with colleagues from various divisions, including R&D hardware, R&D software, systems R&D, manufacturing, or other business groups. What you'll be doing?

• Unleash value: Develop drivers, software, or firmware to enhance systems and hardware.
• Design and implement: Specify, design, implement, and test software features for new and existing products.
• Drive excellence: Foster software development excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Collaborate: Work with colleagues from R&D hardware, R&D software, systems R&D, manufacturing, or other business groups.
• Maintain quality: Ensure software products meet quality and security requirements.

Who are they looking for?

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
• Experience: More than 10 years of experience in software development.
• Mobility: Possess own transportation and willing to travel overseas when required, occasional domestic travelling might be needed.
• Skills: Strong understanding of computers, high-level programming languages (C/C++), software design, object-oriented programming, and computer architecture.
• Preferred experience: Windows and Linux driver development, debugging tools, unit testing, and scripting languages such as Python.
• Language proficiency: English language proficiency and effective communication skills are essential for technical conversations and collaboration with global teams.
