Role Description The Principal Software Engineer at SnazzyHR is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the technical vision and architecture of the company’s core HR and recruiting platform. This role involves designing and implementing scalable back-end services, APIs, and integrations, as well as guiding key decisions on performance, security, and reliability. The Principal Software Engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and drive best practices across the engineering organization. Day-to-day activities include hands-on coding, code reviews, mentoring peers, refining development standards, and contributing to long-term roadmap planning. The role also includes evaluating new technologies and tools to ensure the platform remains modern, maintainable, and efficient.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
• Demonstrated expertise in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
• Advanced proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and database-backed systems.
• Deep experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern software engineering patterns.
• Proven track record of leading technical initiatives, setting architectural direction, and mentoring engineering teams.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), relational and NoSQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfort working in an agile, remote-first environment with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Background in HRTech, SaaS platforms, or high-growth startup environments is a plus.
