Principal Software Engineer - Virtualization

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer - Virtualization to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will help shape software engineering productivity and effectiveness across complex, high-impact technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in architecting enterprise-scale solutions that support CI/CD and embedded workloads while improving how engineering teams deliver. You will partner closely with technical stakeholders to solve challenging problems, coach team members, and connect multiple efforts into measurable engineering value.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $171,150 – $288,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering productivity and effectiveness initiatives
• Identify and lead strategies for process improvements
• Be hands-on in driving high-impact engineering projects
• Communicate effectively while coaching and mentoring team members
• Analyze complex problems to derive practical solutions
• Connect multiple initiatives to maximize engineering value
• Architect enterprise-scale systems for CI/CD and embedded workloads

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of experience in software development
• Deep understanding of software architecture for real-time systems
• Experience shipping high-quality safety-critical products
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with keen attention to detail
• Strong Terraform/IaC experience with production-grade module design
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster operations
