Team Overview:

Our fast-paced, highly collaborative IT team is seeking an IT Manager to oversee the full spectrum of IT services for our Brazil site. This is a hands-on role where you will serve as the single point of IT accountability on the ground, ensuring the office runs smoothly and our employees stay productive. This role requires on-site presence at our Porto Alegre office.

What you will do:

  • Manage local IT devices and their lifecycles such as laptops, network equipment, and mobile devices
  • Lead assessment, management, and negotiation for IT equipment, services, and local Internet providers
  • Own the deployment and operation of company wireless networks, including VPN
  • Serve as primary support contact for remote access technologies (e.g. Exceed TurboX)
  • Oversee local software licenses, license usage, license controls, and renewals
  • Manage the office and lab access controls and security camera systems, including vendor contract oversight
  • Deliver high-quality IT support to employees, maintaining a customer-first approach
  • Coordinate and provide the IT Support for all onsite events
  • Lead IT system changes and change verification
  • Support local cybersecurity incident response and promote a culture of security in alignment with Information Security team guidance
  • Manage the procurement and re-stocking of general supplies used at the office and support shared office responsibilities as need

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user support
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Portuguese required
  • Experience establishing and tracking IT service metrics and driving continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, network troubleshooting, and common enterprise software
  • Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues and make independent decisions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of networking and switch configuration is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, HDI Support Center Manager) are a plus
