Principal, Technology Sourcing

We are partnering with a growing technology organization seeking an experienced Principal, Technology Sourcing professional to join its strategic procurement team. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for leading complex sourcing initiatives across software, SaaS, cloud, and emerging technologies.

This person will work closely with Technology, Finance, Legal, Security, and business leaders to develop sourcing strategies, evaluate technology vendors and markets, lead competitive RFP processes, and negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements.

What You’ll Do

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across software, SaaS, cloud, and emerging technology categories
• Manage complex sourcing engagements from market analysis and supplier evaluation through RFI/RFP, negotiation, contracting, and implementation support
• Develop and execute RFPs, including requirements alignment, vendor evaluation, commercial analysis, and supplier recommendations
• Negotiate software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, cloud services, renewals, and other complex technology agreements
• Evaluate vendor pricing models, licensing structures, subscription and consumption-based models, and overall supplier economics
• Develop category and supplier strategies focused on cost optimization, value creation, risk management, and long-term business objectives
• Build business cases, evaluate total cost of ownership, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership
• Partner cross-functionally on commercial terms, contractual requirements, technology needs, security, privacy, and third-party risk
• Monitor technology markets, supplier performance, renewals, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for optimization and consolidation
• Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor for complex technology sourcing initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or a related area
• Significant experience sourcing and negotiating software, SaaS, cloud, and technology solutions
• Strong experience leading complex RFI/RFP processes from requirements development through vendor selection and negotiation
• Deep understanding of software licensing, subscription and consumption-based pricing, renewals, and technology commercial models
• Experience negotiating complex agreements including MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, licensing agreements, and related commercial terms
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including business case development and total cost of ownership analysis
• Understanding of commercial, security, privacy, data, IP, and third-party risk considerations related to AI and emerging technologies
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex initiatives in a highly cross-functional environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
