THE ROLE

You’re the mastermind behind how our web systems are built and scaled. You’ll set the technical direction for web development, design scalable and secure architectures, standardize frameworks, reduce technical debt, and mentor developers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities:

• Design system architectures for scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Standardize development frameworks and coding standards
• Reduce technical debt across projects
• Guide and mentor development teams
• Ensure scalability and security of all web platforms
• Own backup and disaster recovery planning for web platforms
• Define and oversee testing strategies including automated, stress, and manual testing

Specific Tasks:

• Review and approve architectural decisions for active client projects
• Conduct code and architecture reviews with development teams
• Define and maintain technical standards and framework documentation
• Evaluate new technologies and tools for potential adoption
• Mentor developers on best practices and design patterns
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders on technical scoping
• Monitor system performance and identify optimization opportunities
• Maintain and test backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Oversee test planning and ensure automated, stress, and manual testing coverage for releases

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE

• 7+ years of professional web development experience with 3+ years in an architecture or technical lead role
• Deep expertise in modern web frameworks, cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and scalable application design
• Proficiency in PHP required; additional experience with languages such as JavaScript, Python, Go, or Java is a plus
• Strong knowledge of API design, microservices, database architecture, and DevOps practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, conduct architecture reviews, and drive standards adoption
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

THE GOOD STUFF: PAY & PERKS

Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 per year, based on experience.

Billable Expectation: 40–60% client architecture and complex implementations; remainder devoted to standards, mentoring, and strategy
