Print Machine Applications Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, technically minded individual with a strong understanding of print machinery and engineering principles, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret complex technical schematics and machine specifications, break them down into straightforward instructions, and guide inexperienced operators through machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of optimising print machine applications , in the UK and remotely in the United States ensuring seamless operation, and delivering exceptional support to our clients and internal teams. Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of machinery, including its mechanical and electrical components, operating principles, controls, and functions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
• Break down complex technical information into clear, logical, step-by-step instructions that can be understood by non-technical personnel.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for various print machine applications, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
• Conduct comprehensive training sessions for clients and internal staff on the operation and maintenance of print equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and implement new application features or updates.
• Help prepare detailed documentation, user guides, and training materials to facilitate understanding and efficient use of print applications.
• Interpret machine faults and technical issues, identify potential causes, and explain appropriate diagnostic steps and corrective actions.

Experience

• Proven experience working with print machinery applications or related IT systems in a technical support or application specialist role.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Solid understanding of IT fundamentals, including networking, hardware troubleshooting, and software configuration.
• Exceptional organisational skills combined with effective time management to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly across teams and with international clients.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically capable problem-solver who understands how print machinery works and can explain it to others remotely. They can look at print machinery schematics, diagnose potential route causes and effectively communicate potential fixes as a straightforward set of instructions to print operators with varying levels of experience.
