What they need
This post is a 2 Year Fixed Term / Secondment position. As per the Fixed Term Contacts Policy - Where individuals with continuous service within the NHS apply for fixed-term contract roles, PSD Scotland reserves the right to refuse any such appointment.
On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation:
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post:
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development biomedical research and donor / clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient/donor care whilst remaining internationally competitive. The Donor Services & Transport Department is responsible for the planning and provision of adequate supplies of safe, high quality blood components for NHS Scotland in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Print Unit department of Donor Marketing and Engagement (DME) team within Donor Services & Transport (DS&T). The successful post holder will support the DME team in the issue of varied printed donor communications as well as other specialised printing jobs.
Although desirable, candidates do not need to have experience of working within a print department as full training will be provided on all aspects of role including the various machines used to create, print, fold, insert & assimilate the print jobs.
The candidate, will monitor the print queue to ensure all mailings are accounted for and printed / posted on the target dates. Print jobs will also come from the wider National Services Scotland as well as SNBTS.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a good eye for detail. An important aspect of the post is the ability to be flexible due to short notice changes. The ideal candidate should be highly organised and have the ability to prioritise duties to meet demands in an ever changing environment.
