Working across retail, eCommerce, B2B, print fulfilment partners, production facilities, and approved vendor-supported work, the Controller provides clear ownership, visibility, and workflow discipline from intake through completion.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Review production-ready work to confirm files, specifications, timelines, quantities, finishing, delivery details, and supporting information are complete before release.

  • Apply approved routing standards and workload visibility to coordinate the appropriate production path, including production facility or approved vendor production.
  • Proactively monitor job activity, intake quality, handoff points, routing constraints, and emerging red flags to identify risks before they affect service or committed completion dates. Take early action where possible and escalate as required to the Manager, hub managers, or other operational leaders.
  • Respond to escalations from intake, sales, customer-facing, and operational channels by assessing the issue, taking prompt action to resolve where possible, engaging the appropriate partners, and ensuring the resolution is documented and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of routing decisions, job status, exceptions, ownership changes, escalations, and resolution steps using approved workflow and ticketing processes.
  • Reinforce standard intake, routing, documentation, escalation, and communication practices across the Print Control Center.
  • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, handoff challenges, routing constraints, and improvement opportunities; share findings with Production Control leadership; and escalate issues as needed to support timely, documented, and communicated resolution.

Some of what you need:

  • College or technical diploma in graphic communications, print production, business, operations, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production readiness, intake quality, print specifications, file readiness, finishing options, routing, job movement, documentation requirements, and common production risks.
  • Ability to interpret approved estimates, job specifications, sourcing decisions, costing information, and production requirements within defined decision rights and escalation criteria.
  • Ability to collaborate with Print Estimating and operational partners to support complete handoffs, accurate routing, workflow control, and production execution.
  • Strong proactive monitoring, prioritization, issue resolution, workload visibility, and early risk identification skills.
  • Sound judgment to resolve routine production issues and recognize when decisions, exceptions, or risks require escalation to Production Control leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation discipline, follow-through, and comfort with production systems, workflow tools, ticketing logic, CRM, order management, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • 2–4 years of experience in print production, production coordination, print support, sales support, estimating, customer service operations, or a related operational role.
  • Experience with print specifications, production workflows, job routing, intake, escalations, approved vendor coordination, or production facility environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting B2B print, print fulfilment partners, retail print, eCommerce print, commercial print, centralized production, or multi-site production networks is an asset.
  • Experience with workflow, ServiceNow, CRM, order management, or production tracking tools is an asset.
