Part-Time Print Production Operator

Schedule: Monday - Friday/20–25 hours per week

Pay: Open$ per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

PRINT-Xpress is looking for a reliable, hands-on part-time team member to support our production floor. In this role you will run digital presses, handle bindery and finishing work, and produce large format graphics. You'll work closely with our design and sales teams to get quality jobs out the door on time.

ResponsibilitiesDigital Press Operation

• Set up jobs by identifying and loading the correct paper and adjusting registration
• Operate digital printers, regulating flow and speed during production
• Monitor runs for quality defects such as hickeys, misregistration, and color variation

Bindery and Finishing

• Size paper and trim finished pieces using industrial cutters
• Operate binding equipment, including GBC, coil, and stitching (stapling)
• Fold, laminate, score, perforate, and collate documents
• Shrink-wrap, box, and label finished jobs for delivery or pickup, including loading boxes into customers' vehicles

Large Format Printing

• Set up and operate a roll-fed large format printer
• Produce banners, vinyl, signage, and rigid board displays
• Monitor print quality and manage color calibration (CMYK/Pantone) and resolution
• Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot the printer, including clearing jams and fixing alignment
• Cut, trim, laminate, and mount graphics on coroplast and foamboard
• Add grommets for hanging and mount graphics on x-banners and retractable banner stands

Workflow and Logistics

• Manage inventory of substrates (vinyl, fabric, paper) and toner
• Coordinate with design and sales teams to meet customer deadlines
• Follow all safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and load boxes into vehicles
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working with industrial equipment
• Strong attention to detail, especially for quality control and color accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a deadline-driven environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a print shop, production, or bindery environment
• Familiarity with digital presses, large format printers, and color management
• Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment
• Working knowledge of CMYK and Pantone color systems

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work takes place on a production floor with printing, cutting, and finishing equipment. Tasks include lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive motion. Safety equipment and training will be provided.
