Printer Operator & Graphics Technician

We are looking for a skilled and quality-focused Large Format Printer Operator to join our production team. You will be responsible for operating, managing, and maintaining digital printers for event branding, exhibition backdrops, vinyl graphics, banners, flex, and custom display materials. The ideal candidate understands print preparation, color calibration, RIP software, and post-print finishing work.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Prepare, setup, and operate large format inkjet, UV, eco-solvent, and solvent printers for printing on vinyl, backdrops, canvas, banner flex, acrylic, and foam boards.
• File Processing & RIP Software: Check client art files/artwork for resolution, bleed, and size accuracy; process files using RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, VersaWorks).
• Color & Quality Control: Perform color matching, print calibration, and continuous inspection to ensure flawless output without banding, smudging, or color shifting.
• Finishing & Prep Work: Assist with post-print processing including lamination, plot cutting (Graphtec/Summa), weeding, eyeleting, edge trimming, and mounting onto wood, MDF, or foam boards.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily machine cleaning, printhead nozzle checks, alignment, and basic preventive maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Material Management: Track consumable inventories (inks, vinyl rolls, flex media, substrates) and report shortages ahead of project deadlines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience as a printer operator in an event management, advertising, signage, or exhibition fabrication company (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
• Software Knowledge: Proficiency in RIP software, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and cutting plotter software.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of print media (sav/vinyl, backlit flex, mesh, blockout fabric, direct-to-substrate UV printing) and finishing methods.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to catch file errors, low-res graphics, or color discrepancies before sending jobs to print.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime during high-volume event build-ups and tight delivery schedules.
