Printer Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

HOLA INK creates print and graphics projects for the cruise and hospitality industries. We’re looking for a hands-on Print Production Technician who enjoys solving technical problems, maintaining equipment, and producing consistent, high-quality work.

You’ll help keep production running smoothly by operating and maintaining professional printing and finishing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting jobs from file preparation through final production. This position requires technical understanding beyond routine machine operation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Set up and operate professional printing and finishing equipment according to job specifications.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment, software, connectivity, calibration, and print-quality issues.
• Manage Equipment Parts Sourcing: Maintain knowledge of authorized vendors and manufacturer contacts to quickly identify, source, and order replacement parts, components, and supplies needed for equipment maintenance and repairs.\
• Prepare and manage jobs using RIP and print-production software, including queues, nesting, resolution, profiles, and production settings.
• Monitor color consistency, alignment, accuracy, and finished quality.
• Verify that files, equipment settings, and production processes meet job requirements.
• Identify potential problems early to reduce waste, errors, and production delays.
• Document maintenance, repairs, calibration, service history, and recurring technical issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and outside service technicians for technical support and specialized repairs.
• Help source replacement parts and maintain essential maintenance supplies.
• Support the production team with technically challenging jobs.
• Recommend improvements to equipment performance, workflow, and production quality.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in large-format digital printing, sign production, graphics production, or a comparable professional print environment.
• Experience operating and maintaining professional printing and finishing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a logical approach to troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of RIP software, color management, ICC profiles, calibration, and print-quality control.
• Ability to trace production problems to their source and take appropriate corrective action.
• Comfort troubleshooting computers, network connections, firmware, drivers, and equipment software.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation, manufacturer specifications, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, high-quality work.
• Good organizational skills and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the production team.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and production technologies.
• English proficiency required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.01 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 16.0 per week
