About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Privacy Consultant to join a delivery team supporting a global technology business on a high-volume HR privacy workstream.
Working as part of the privacy and legal function, you'll manage Global HR Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) from initial logging through to final response and disclosure. You'll coordinate data collection across multiple teams and systems, review and redact sensitive information, draft responses and work closely with internal legal and privacy stakeholders and external legal advisers.
This is a highly organised, hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable managing multiple cases and stakeholders across different regions on a daily basis. Experience with GDPR, DSARs and OneTrust is important, while a legal qualification is not required.
The engagement is initially for 6 months, with a strong likelihood of extension , and is fully remote with flexibility around 25–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday . There is also the option to work from a state-of-the-art city-centre office.
What You'll Do
- Manage Global HR Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) from initial logging through to final response and disclosure.
- Manage the HR Data Protection queue within OneTrust, ensuring requests and queries are logged, assigned and progressed within required timelines.
- Coordinate data collection across multiple stakeholders, systems and regions, working closely with HR, Legal, Privacy, IT Security and other relevant teams.
- Analyse requests and identify the information and data sources required to support each case.
- Review and redact personal and confidential employee data before disclosure.
- Draft clear, accurate and complete DSAR responses and related correspondence.
- Manage the HR Data Protection mailbox, monitoring incoming queries, assigning correspondence to relevant cases and responding or escalating where appropriate.
- Support data protection complaints by conducting fact-finding exercises, gathering relevant information and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal Privacy and Employment Legal teams to understand the context of requests and support the appropriate handling of cases.
- Coordinate with external legal advisers on active HR privacy matters, including data transfers, document review and response preparation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across HR, Employment Legal, Privacy, IT Security and other business functions.
- Monitor and resolve OneTrust platform issues, working with OneTrust support and engineering teams where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection and privacy processes, particularly around new or complex data sets.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, step-by-step guides and procedures for HR Privacy processes.
- Monitor case volumes, reporting and metrics to provide visibility on workload, case status and operational performance.
- Manage multiple concurrent cases and priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, confidentiality and responsiveness.
What We're Looking For
- 5–8 years' experience in Data Protection / Privacy , ideally with experience in an HR or employment privacy environment.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) .
- Proven experience managing DSARs or similar privacy cases from initial request through to final response.
- Experience using OneTrust or a similar privacy/data protection platform.
- Strong data review and redaction experience, with the ability to work accurately with large volumes of sensitive information.
- Experience handling confidential employee data.
- Experience working closely with Legal, Privacy, HR, IT Security and other business stakeholders.
- Experience working with external legal advisers or outside counsel is desirable.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent cases and competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when drafting correspondence and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with stakeholders across different regions and time zones.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with an interest in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Comfortable working remotely and independently while remaining highly responsive and communicative.
- Legal qualification is not required; candidates from privacy, data protection, HR privacy, compliance or related backgrounds are welcome.
Why You'll Love Working Here:
- Work within the privacy function of one of the world's most recognised global technology platforms.
- Gain exposure to complex, high-volume HR privacy and DSAR work in a genuinely international environment.
- Work alongside experienced Privacy and Employment Legal teams and external legal advisers.
- Have the opportunity to improve privacy processes, systems and workflows rather than simply managing individual cases.
- Work with OneTrust and other technology-enabled privacy processes at scale.
- Enjoy a fully remote working arrangement with genuine flexibility around hours.
- Be part of a category-defining company that is reshaping the future of legal technology.
We’re a team of builders, operators, and problem-solvers who are passionate about reshaping an industry that has long been resistant to change. If you’re looking for a role where you’ll take ownership from day one, work on complex global privacy matters and help improve the way privacy work is delivered at scale, we’d love to meet you.
