What they need

Position Overview

Leon Capital Group (LCG) is a founder-led diversified holding company with a long-term, partnership-driven approach across healthcare, financial services, real estate and technology. LCG’s culture is entrepreneurial and grounded in the belief that capital, relationships, and creativity compounded over time drive enduring value creation.

The Private Equity Associate will join the Leon Capital Group Direct Investments Team , a group of business builders dedicated to launching and scaling new operating platforms. The team partners directly with founders and executives to create, acquire, and grow businesses that become part of LCG’s expanding portfolio. The Direct Investments team currently oversees 10+ operating companies and platforms, spanning sectors such as healthcare, financial services, consumer services, and insurance. The Associate will play a hands-on role across all stages of investment, execution, and company-building. High performers will have the opportunity to take on increasing ownership across investments, lead operating initiatives, and grow into future principals and platform leaders at LCG.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You are a high-performing, analytically driven individual with a passion for building businesses from the ground up. You thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments where you can take ownership, think strategically, and execute decisively with some autonomy. You combine investment acumen with operational curiosity, someone who enjoys both the deal-making and the company-building sides of private equity. You’re eager to work directly with leadership teams, contribute to key strategic initiatives, and grow into a future leader at LCG.

Key Responsibilities:

Investments & Deal Execution:

  • Manage and execute new investment opportunities, including platform and add-on opportunities to existing portfolio companies.
  • Lead financial analysis and due diligence on investment opportunities.
  • Assist in transaction structuring, negotiation, and documentation of definitive agreements.
  • Support management of existing investments, including preparation of corporate reporting, dashboards, and investor materials.
  • Contribute to ongoing strategy development and pipeline tracking.

Company Building & Operations:

  • Work hand-in-hand with portfolio company management teams to drive growth and operational improvement.
  • Execute key initiatives in corporate finance, business development, strategic planning, or performance management.
  • Partner with founders and executives to identify, test, and scale new growth opportunities
  • Support M&A integration and post-close value creation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with LCG’s broader platform to leverage cross-functional insights into company operations and growth.

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or a high-growth startup or operating environment.
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills with a strong sense for business strategy and operational drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience driving execution, whether through deal processes, strategic initiatives, or operating projects.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and technology platforms to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator with a data-driven approach to problem solving and a bias for action.
  • Team-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading academic institution; outstanding academic and professional track record.
  • Willingness to relocate to Dallas and work in-person, five days per week at our headquarters.
