A Day in the Life

• The role is responsible for demonstrating competence in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, sterile storage, and case cart assembly.

What’s Required

• Consistently demonstrates all requirements of CPD Tech II
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) when eligible.
• Ability to:
  • Walk moderate distances while pushing/maneuvering carts.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have effective customer service/people skills and critical thinking skills that involve multitasking with interruptions.
