PRN CT/MR/XR Technologist

Independent Diagnostic Imaging Facility is seeking an experienced qualified Technologist to perform CT/MR/X-ray exams. PRN position.

JOB SUMMARY

Utilizes independent judgment in the performance of diagnostic imaging procedures in the Radiology Department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must be certified in X-Ray, CT, and MRI. CT OR MRI CAN BE TRAINED
• Licensed by the state of Illinois as a General Radiographer.
• 3 years CT OR MRI experience preferred
• Ability to make independent decisions using critical thinking, problem solving and perform responsibilities under stressful situations.
• Meet technical standards.
• Possess professional oral and written communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS OF THE REGISTERED RADIOGRAPHER/CT TECHNOLOGIST/MRI TECHNOLOGIST

• Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care, including
• Proper positioning/centering of part/patient
• Proper technical factor selection
• Proper image/patient identification
• Proper use of image receptors
• Proper, professional patient care and assessment of exam ordered
• Proper radiation protection provided for patient/staff/general public
• Proper documentation maintained. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Works as a member of the health care team with other health care professionals in diagnostic testing procedures such as X-Ray, MRI, and CT exams. Utilize proper equipment to image patients as outlined in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Practice Standards document, state certification requirements, and institutional practice parameters. Perform any specialized procedures for diagnosis and assistance in the design and treatment for patients for exams that are not typically performed on a daily basis.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to medical and surgical asepsis and standard precautions as required per procedure. Administers contrast media and other medications under the direction of the radiologist.
• Transport patients as required.
• Assist with lifting or moving patients onto required table for exam.
• Maintains license/certification through continuing education.
• Adheres to all Forest City Diagnostic Imaging policy and procedures.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $34.00 - $43.00 per hour
