Duties

• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, transportation, and other school-related events to ensure safety and proper conduct
• Enforce school policies and procedures consistently, maintaining discipline and promoting respectful behavior among students
• Implement behavior management techniques tailored to students with special education needs and support positive behavioral development
• Assist with classroom activities, including teaching basic skills and supporting individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and safety issues
• Support child safety protocols including first aid response, CPR certification maintenance, evacuation procedures, and transportation safety regulations
• Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining compliance with school policies and privacy standards

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management for students with disabilities, and conflict resolution techniques is essential
• Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies
• Familiarity with school policy enforcement, student supervision standards, and safety regulations is required
• Experience supporting children with physical disabilities or special needs is advantageous
• Strong communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration are necessary
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in child safety procedures is expected
