What they need

Join Argo Natural Resources, a business built around people.

Argo Natural Resources is a people-led mining business producing high-quality steelmaking coal from assets located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

With operations including Carborough Downs, Ironbark No. 1, Broadlea and New Burton Mine, Argo is proud to play a vital role in Queensland’s resources industry.

This role is based at Ironbark No 1. Argo brings together people, performance and operational excellence to responsibly deliver the resources that help build our cities and support thriving communities.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Process Control Systems Engineer to play a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our process control systems.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you’ll provide hands-on technical expertise across the full lifecycle of PCS—from installation, programming and project integration through to maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, improving system performance and working on projects that make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

ABOUT YOU

  • Trade or tertiary qualifications with strong PCS knowledge and experience in underground coal mining.
  • Previous experience in a PCS Engineer role, with expertise in conveyors and longwall PCS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, self-directed and results-focused approach, with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and manage change.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement across safety, reliability, cost and equipment availability.
  • The ability to provide technical guidance and work collaboratively with operational, maintenance and engineering teams.

WHY ARGO?

  • Attractive remuneration and other benefits available with career progression opportunities.
  • At Ironbark No 1, we are building more than an operation - we are building a long-term team of skilled, committed people who want to grow, contribute, and be part of our success for years to come.
  • At Argo, your next career step isn’t just a move - it’s where your experience is valued, your impact is amplified, and you’re set up to excel.

When you join Argo Natural Resources, you’re joining a team with the opportunity to make a real impact, grow your career and contribute to the future of our industry. If you’re ready to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

NOTE: we do not accept applications from recruitment agencies.
