About the role

We are seeking a Process Engineer and Local OPEX to join our team at our facility in Mueang Ranong, Ranong, Thailand. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing operations and driving operational excellence across our ceramic production processes. As Process Engineer and Local OPEX, you will be responsible for improving process efficiency, reducing operational costs, and ensuring that our production operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is integral to maintaining our competitive advantage and supporting the strategic objectives of Imerys Ceramics (Thailand) Ltd.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimise ceramic production processes to improve efficiency, quality and yield
• Conduct process analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements
• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production operations and recommend corrective actions
• Support troubleshooting of production issues and implement solutions to minimise downtime
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols
• Maintain comprehensive process documentation, including standard operating procedures and process specifications
• Conduct process audits and assessments to identify areas for enhancement and cost optimisation
• Manage local operational expenditure (OPEX) budgets and track spending against targets
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles
• Liaise with engineering teams and senior management to report on process performance and operational metrics
• Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new technologies or equipment to enhance production capabilities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or ceramics production environment
• Strong knowledge of ceramic manufacturing processes, materials science and production technologies
• Demonstrated experience in operational excellence, process optimisation and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production data and identify process improvements
• Experience with process modelling, simulation software or statistical analysis tools
• Strong understanding of production cost management and operational budgeting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Thai or other regional languages is advantageous
• Willingness to work in a production environment and flexibility to support shift operations when required
• Knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations and quality management systems (such as ISO 9001) is preferred
