Process Engineer

About the role

This role involves performing analysis and providing recommendations for quality improvements, productivity improvements and cost reduction using technical techniques and data. You will deploy Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process capability, yield, productivity, and product quality to exceed customers' expectations, and support the transfer of manufacturing processes from other manufacturing sites to Malaysia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analysis and provide recommendations for quality improvements, productivity improvements and cost reduction by using technical techniques and use of data
• Define opportunities for improvement using Kaizen based on objectives such as productivity, efficiency, and quality
• Deploy Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process capability, yield, productivity, and product quality to exceed customers' expectation
• Participate and provide critical inputs in documentation for process FMEA and process control plan
• Develop work instructions, visual aids and critical control parameters for processes
• Support transfer of manufacturing processes from other manufacturing site to Malaysia and ensures seamless transition, process optimization and compliance with quality standards
• Train production and quality team in training for process enhancement and change in performing their duties
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications, quality standards, and timelines
• Provide technical expertise to support equipment installation, troubleshooting, and process validation activities

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering (Manufacturing/ Industrial/ Mechatronic/ Mechanical/ E & E, etc) or equivalent
• 2 – 3 years of working experience in a consumer goods assembly/ electronic manufacturing environment will be an added advantage
• Ability to converse in Mandarin/ Chinese is a plus
• Ability to make judgement based on data in all aspects of improvement activities
• Knowledge in Kaizen, Lean and Six Sigma methodology will be an added advantage
• Experience in IPC-610 standards will be an advantage
• Experience in manufacturing environment on process improvement and ability to make technical judgment and recommendation
• Ability to challenge status quo for further improvement
