- Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary technical specialist in coordinating with the Production Engineer to investigate and resolve process disturbances, equipment malfunctions, and off-spec product incidents.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily and monthly reports detailing key operational data, including production volume, product grade changes, raw material/utilities consumption, inventory levels, and significant operational events for management review.
- Metering & Recording: Coordinate the accurate technical metering and recording of process variables to maintain data integrity for performance analysis and mass/energy balance calculations.
2. Plant Integrity, Maintenance, and Modification
- Maintenance Support: Collaborate with the Production Engineer to plan, prioritize, and technically scope planned maintenance turnarounds, shutdowns, and minor modification work.
- Project Engineering (Preliminary): Develop preliminary process designs (e.g., P&IDs, equipment specifications, mass/energy balances) for new facility installations or required alterations to existing plant facilities.
- Trial Management: Plan and coordinate new material or process trials, defining the required operational parameters and coordinating in-process quality analysis with the Laboratory/Quality Control department.
3. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management
- Safety Compliance: Fully support, cooperate, and encourage all Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) activities to achieve company policy and targets, actively participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and safety reviews.
- Emergency Response: Participate in the plant's emergency response team, including fire fighting activities during emergencies, as required by training and plant protocols.
