Process Engineer

Job Overview

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing industrial treatment processes, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role focuses on process improvement, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical support for plant operations within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily plant operations by monitoring and optimizing process performance.
• Analyze process data to identify improvement opportunities in efficiency, safety, and cost.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFDs, SOPs, and operating manuals.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, and start-up of new or modified processes and equipment.
• Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Support waste treatment, recovery, or recycling processes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in process safety reviews, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.
• Liaise with vendors and contractors on process-related matters when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Higher Nitec in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1–5 years of experience in process engineering, plant operations, or industrial treatment facilities.
• Knowledge of industrial process systems, utilities, and equipment.
• Familiar with process safety, HAZOP, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a plant-based environment and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with process simulation tools is an advantage.
