Process Engineer

At Calleva, we're looking for a hands-on Process Engineer who enjoys solving real-world manufacturing challenges. This isn't a role where you'll spend your days behind a desk reviewing reports. You'll be on the shop floor, working closely with operators, production teams and management to understand issues, identify opportunities and implement improvements that make a measurable difference.

Whether it's reducing downtime, improving changeovers, increasing packing line efficiency or delivering automation projects, you'll take ownership from investigation through to implementation.

You'll also play a key role in supporting continuous improvement activities and delivering projects ranging from small process enhancements to larger capital investment initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Driving improvements across manufacturing and packing processes using data and operational insight
• Monitoring and improving OEE, yield, waste, downtime and changeover performance
• Investigating production issues and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions
• Leading continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, 8D and DMAIC
• Supporting new product introductions, production trials and process validation activities
• Developing and maintaining SOPs and work instructions
• Providing technical support and training for production and packing teams
• Managing process improvement, automation and capital investment projects
• Building business cases for improvement opportunities and CAPEX proposals
• Ensuring all process changes are delivered safely and in line with site health and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience in a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar role
• Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food or fast-paced production environment
• Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement projects and measurable operational improvements
• Strong practical problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with people at all levels
• Good knowledge of manufacturing health and safety requirements
• Experience of automation or robotics implementation

Desirable

• Engineering Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience
• Lean Six Sigma qualification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt or above)
• Experience with packing, filling or production line equipment
• Project management experience
• PRINCE2 or other project management qualification
• Experience applying AI or digital technologies within manufacturing
