Process Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Process Engineer to join our team in Roscoe, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing jobs based on customer blueprints, creating routings and travellers, and ensuring smooth communication with customers and shop personnel to deliver high-quality manufactured parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Process jobs according to customer blueprints and technical specifications.
• Create routings and travellers to define the order of operations for manufacturing parts.
• Correspond with customers regarding technical data and clarify requirements as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understand and apply knowledge of heat treat processes and special processes such as plating.
• Utilize experience in specialized metal fabrication to optimize manufacturing processes (experience with gearing is a plus but not required).
• Lay out the sequence of operations required to manufacture parts efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate effectively with shop operators and machinists to provide clarification and assistance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of heat treat and plating processes.
• Experience in specialized metal fabrication processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and shop floor personnel.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical manufacturing issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
