Responsibilities
As a Process Engineering Intern for TPC, you would be required to:

  • Assist in analyzing current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Work closely with senior process engineers to develop and implement process optimization strategies and solutions.
  • Conduct data analysis and statistical studies to evaluate process performance and identify trends or deviations.
  • Participate in process troubleshooting activities to address issues and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control and maintenance to implement process improvements and ensure seamless integration.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of experiments to validate process changes and improvements.
  • Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new equipment, technologies and methodologies to enhance process efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
  • Document project activities, findings and recommendations in clear and concise reports.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Process Engineering Supervisor.

Education/Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current university enrollment in a chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering degree program.
  • Prior internship experience is helpful.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Minitab, MATLAB).
  • Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, COMSOL) is a plus.

Skills
We are searching for candidates with the following skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and openness to a changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
