On behalf of our client, an innovative Swiss technology company developing sustainable raw materials for the packaging industry, we are looking for a

Process Engineer – Film Extrusion (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities:

• Scale up the cast-film extrusion process from pilot scale to stable industrial production.
• Define and optimise process parameters to achieve reliable production conditions and consistent film quality.
• Plan and conduct extrusion trials, analyse results and troubleshoot technical issues directly at the line.
• Work closely with material development to optimise the interaction between formulation, material behaviour and processing parameters.
• Evaluate necessary modifications and technical adaptations of extrusion equipment.
• Transfer developed processes to external manufacturing partners and support commissioning, ramp-up and process optimisation.

Experience and qualifications:

• Several years of hands-on experience in industrial film extrusion, ideally cast-film extrusion.
• Strong practical knowledge of extrusion processes, process optimisation, troubleshooting and industrial scale-up.
• Good understanding of polymers, material behaviour, machine parameters and their influence on film properties.
• Ability to assess and support technical modifications of extrusion equipment.
• Experience in compounding, coextrusion, packaging or bio-based polymers would be an advantage.
• Degree in plastics engineering, process engineering, polymer science, chemical engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Pragmatic, independent and solution-oriented working style with a strong hands-on mindset. Fluent English is required; German would be an advantage.
