Process Engineer (FPSO / Gas Compression System)

The Opportunity:

My client is a leading engineering solutions provider specializing in energy infrastructure and gas processing systems. With a strong track record in delivering complex offshore and onshore projects, the company combines technical excellence, innovation, and operational reliability to support the global energy sector. The multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to design and deliver high-quality compression and processing facilities tailored to client needs, particularly within the FPSO and offshore environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer with hands-on experience in gas compression systems for offshore applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in detailed engineering design, simulation, and technical evaluation, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of process systems.

The Job:

• Develop and execute process design for gas compression systems, including:

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)

• Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)

• Process Safety Diagrams (PSD)

• Heat & Mass Balance calculations

• Prepare and review P&IDs for gas compression units

• Perform process simulations using Aspen HYSYS

• Conduct equipment and pipeline sizing, including:

• Gas pipelines within compression skids

• Pulsation bottles

• Scrubbers (including internals)

• Coolers and Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs)

• Carry out PSV sizing, settle-out, and blowdown calculations

• Design fire-fighting systems and perform hydraulic calculations for gas compression skids

• Develop operating, control, and safeguarding philosophies

• Prepare and manage process datasheets and line lists independently

• Develop and review Cause & Effect matrices

• Lead or actively contribute to safety studies, including:

• HAZOP

• LOPA

• SIL assessments

• Participate in technical evaluation of process equipment and instrumentation

• Interface with clients and vendors, including participation in design review meetings

The Talent:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience in topside module process design
• Experience in detailed engineering of gas compression systems is a must
• Strong knowledge of industrial design practices and offshore standards
• Proven experience using Aspen HYSYS for process simulation
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities
