  • Process Engineering Leadership: Provide technical leadership to the Process Engineering organization, strengthening engineering capability, routines, standards and quality of technical work across LSB.

  • Engineering Capability & Mentorship: Coach and mentor engineers, strengthening technical problem solving, engineering judgment and understanding of nitrogen manufacturing processes. Promote cross-site collaboration, knowledge sharing and consistent application of engineering best practices.

  • Plant Performance & Optimization: Strengthen plant performance through routine analysis of process data, process modeling and equipment performance. Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve production, energy efficiency, reliability and plant constraints.

  • Troubleshooting & Reliability: Provide technical leadership for complex plant problems, significant operating events and recurring reliability issues. Lead or guide structured problem solving and ensure learnings are translated into sustainable improvements across LSB.

  • Process Safety & Risk Management: Provide technical leadership for process safety, operating discipline and operational risk, partnering with PSM, Operations and Engineering to strengthen operating limits, IOWs, operating practices, safeguards and risk controls. Provide technical guidance for PHAs, LOPAs, MOCs, incident investigations and other significant process risk activities.

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant process engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining or similar continuous-process manufacturing.

  • Significant experience supporting nitrogen manufacturing facilities, with direct ammonia plant experience strongly preferred. Experience with urea and other nitrogen processes is beneficial.

  • Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals, plant performance, troubleshooting, process control and automation fundamentals, and major process equipment.

  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management, including PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, PSSR and process risk management.
