Process Engineer | Mechanical | Electrical

Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and optimization of a new plant. The role works closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, equipment suppliers, and technical experts to ensure the successful implementation of plant processes, equipment, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

1. Support the planning, design, installation, and commissioning of the new scheduled waste plant.
2. Coordinate with technical teams, equipment suppliers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
4. Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
5. Assist in equipment testing, troubleshooting, performance validation, and plant start-up activities.
6. Develop and optimize plant operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
7. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
8. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, DOE requirements, and company HSE standards.
9. Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure a smooth handover after commissioning.
10. Prepare project reports, technical documentation, and engineering recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, chemical, refinery, waste management, oil & gas, or industrial processing plants.
• Exposure to plant setup, commissioning, project engineering, maintenance, or process improvement will be an added advantage.
• Able to read and understand basic engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Basic knowledge of industrial utilities, process equipment, pumps, motors, piping systems, and control systems.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn in a plant environment.
• Able to work closely with Operations, Engineering, contractors, suppliers, and other relevant departments.
• Mandarin proficiency is required for communication with China-based technical teams, suppliers, and contractors.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites during plant construction and commissioning.
