Process Engineer - Polymer Manufacturing

Our client is an established multinational chemical manufacturer with a long-standing manufacturing presence in Singapore. Their operations focus strongly on process safety, quality and continuous improvement, and they offer a stable, structured working environment.

They are now looking for a Process Engineer or Senior Process Engineer to join their engineering team. You’ll own process improvement projects from idea through to execution, helping to make the plant safer, more efficient and more productive. You’ll work closely with Operations and R&D, and take part in everything from product trials to capital projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Plan and carry out process improvements that strengthen process and occupational safety, improve product quality, cut energy use and costs, and increase capacity, working through the MOC (Management of Change) and NRW (non-regular work) systems
• Plan and run trials of new product grades with R&D and Operations, including the evaluation afterwards
• Review process performance and key parameters, both routinely and over the long term, to catch risks to plant stability, safety or quality early
• Represent Process Engineering in HAZOP, FMEA and Control Plan studies
• Manage process-related capex projects from concept to FEED, and lead projects assigned by department management
• Study and roll out Industry 4.0 technologies as part of productivity projects
• Support the site’s management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SS 651, IATF 16949, the Safety Case Regime, Energy Management System and ISCC Plus
• Carry out process engineering studies (such as for NRW and MOC) when other departments ask

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• For Process Engineer: about 3 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry
• For Senior Process Engineer: at least 5 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry
• Hands-on experience with HAZOP, MOC and process improvement in an operating plant
• Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) certification is an advantage
• Familiarity with the Safety Case Regime, IATF 16949, ISO 9001/14001/45001, SS 651 and IEC 61511 is an advantage
• Experience with DCS, especially modifying logic and sequences, is a plus
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and able to handle several responsibilities at once
