Process Engineer – Production & Project Support

Job summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Process Engineer to provide operational and technical support across Production and Project functions.

The primary purpose of this role is to strengthen day-to-day production support while assisting cross-functional improvement initiatives and strategic projects. The role will help free up key resources involved in strategic projects, including the D365FO implementation, by providing operational and technical support across Production and the Project Office.

The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Project Office, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and other site functions to solve operational challenges, support project delivery, and ensure continuity of daily operations.

The position is organizationally anchored within Production but requires strong cross-functional collaboration and a flexible approach to supporting other departments needs across the site.

To build strong cross-functional competencies and relationships, an initial development plan may include structured rotations between Production and the Project Office during the first 12 months.

Key responsibilities

Production Support

• Support daily production operations and resolution of process-related challenges.
• Drive and support Non-Conformance (NC) investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
• Support and facilitate OEE improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment-related challenges in collaboration with Production and Maintenance teams.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Develop, review, and maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and operating standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operators, supervisors, and production personnel.
• Assist in monitoring process performance and identifying improvement opportunities through data-driven analysis.

Project Office Support

• Support site improvement projects through coordination and operational assistance.
• Assist project teams in project planning, execution, follow-up, and reporting related to project implementation.
• Coordinate follow-up actions across function and project stakeholders to ensure effective implementations of project.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) where required for new processes, equipment and technologies.
• Assist with change management, training preparation, and process documentation related to new systems and processes.
• Involve and contribute in problem solving processes and project related improvement activities.
• Facilitate communication between operational teams and project teams to ensure alignment and smooth implementation of business improvements.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in food, oleochemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or similar process industries
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process control, process optimization, and operational problem-solving
• Experience supporting continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives
• Familiarity with ERP systems (such as D365, SAP, Oracle), MES, and industrial automation systems
• Knowledge of production performance metrics, including OEE and KPI management
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills across operational and other departments
• Comfortable working in cross-functional and matrix environments
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data analysis tools
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Self-motivated, adaptable, collaborative, and hands-on in approach
